Turkey is renewing its effort to secure US F-16 fighter jets -- but we cannot let the sale go through unless it's clear that these jets can't be used to attack Greece.

Please contact Congress now to demand they hold Turkey accountable.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Turkey has repeatedly violated Greek airspace and its "Blue Homeland" doctrine makes expansive claims against Greek sovereignty. It continues to undermine the NATO alliance, and it cannot be allowed to purchase F-16s with no strings attached.

Turkey must be held accountable for its increasingly belligerent behavior towards Greece and it cannot be allowed to purchase F-16s which could be used against Greece.

Hello, I am writing to urge you to use all legislative measures available to prevent the sale of F-16s and upgrade packages to Turkey, unless and until conditions are met to ensure that Turkey ceases its provocative and aggressive behavior in the region. Earlier this year, Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed that the Biden administration was considering acquiescing to Turkey’s requests for F-16 and upgrade kits. This was in the face of intense international criticism and criticism from members of Congress regarding Turkey’s authoritarian and human rights abuses, its blocking of the Swedish and Finnish NATO accession processes, and its threats against Greece, a key NATO ally. In fact, the United States had already cancelled the sale of F-35s to Turkey because Turkey — in defiance of international requests from NATO members — purchased Russia’s S-400 missile defense system. While Turkey finally approved Finland’s NATO membership bid in March, it is now leveraging approval of Sweden’s bid to secure the F-16 transaction. Yet, Turkey must act like a true ally if it seeks F-16s from the United States, and that does not mean simply exchanging NATO accession approval for the sale. As a most fundamental issue, Turkey cannot continue to threaten war with a NATO member, Greece, and it must evidence a demonstrated change of policy when it comes to overflights of Greek airspace and aggressive behavior in the Aegean. Unless Turkey makes absolutely clear it has broken with its destabilizing behaviors of its past, I urge you to take any action available, including a joint resolution of disapproval under the Arms Export Control Act, to block this sale. For the sake of peace and stability in the region, conditions must be attached if any F-16 sale is to proceed. Thank you.
